Texting + Driving = Death

Texting while driving is hazardous, according to experts' texting while driving is more dangerous than driving while drunk. Texting while driving is obviously very dangerous, because it involves not looking at the traffic situation for seconds at a time. Texting allows yourself to get distracted when you're behind the wheel is never wise. At present, driving while texting is leading factor in road accidents.

Four states are actively attempting to ban driving while texting (DWT), with Washington passing a ban early this year on all drivers sending electronic messages while on the road. In 17 states including the District of Columbia, young or inexperienced drivers are banned from using cell phones, even using a hands-free kit, with emergency calls exempted.

Research conducted by Nationwide Insurance proposes that DWT is generational, with 46 percent of drivers' ages 16 to 17 admit to texting while driving, while just 14 percent of those ages 28 to 44 and only 2% percent of drivers ages 45 to 60 admitted to it. These numbers are in response to a massive statistics that suggest Driving While Texting becomes the killer monster in the road.

If you cannot avoid texting while behind the wheel, I would suggest that the place to do it is at the slow multi-phase traffic lights or Electronic Virtual Assistant lets you dictate text message responses.

So, if you have read this far, hopefully not while sitting behind the steering wheel, please think twice before you decide that a text must be sent while driving, its highly dangerous to you and others around you.
